Now Hiring: Head of English Department
Thai National | Full-Time Position in Chiang Mai
TSL Chiang Mai is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Thai English educator to lead and develop our English teaching team.
This is a full-time leadership position combining academic management, teacher development, curriculum improvement, and approximately 20 hours of teaching per week.
Position Details
Position: Head of English Department / English Academic Coordinator
Location: TSL Chiang Mai, 4th Floor, Pantip Plaza, near the Night Bazaar
Working days: Monday to Friday
Working hours: 8:30 AM–4:00 PM
Salary: 45,000 THB per month, depending on qualifications, experience, and leadership ability
Employment type: Full-time
Main Responsibilities
• Lead, support, and develop TSL Chiang Mai’s English teaching team
• Maintain and improve the overall quality of English lessons
• Observe classes and provide teachers with clear, constructive feedback
• Train, coach, and support new and existing teachers
• Assist with teacher recruitment, interviews, and demonstration lessons
• Coordinate teacher orientation and onboarding
• Develop and improve English curricula, lesson plans, teaching materials, and student assessments
• Ensure that lessons are practical, engaging, and focused on real-life communication
• Monitor student progress, attendance, and satisfaction
• Help resolve academic and classroom-related issues
• Coordinate closely with the management and administrative teams
• Teach approximately 20 hours of group and private English lessons per week
• Provide management with regular reports and improvement recommendations
Qualifications
• Thai nationality
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in English, Education, Linguistics, TESOL, or a related field
• Excellent command of English, preferably IELTS 8.0 or above, or equivalent, Near-native English proficiency with no individual skill below 7.5 or equivalent.
• At least five years of English teaching experience
• Experience teaching adult learners and students from different cultural backgrounds
• Previous experience as a Head Teacher, Academic Coordinator, Teacher Trainer, Curriculum Developer, or Team Leader is strongly preferred
• Strong knowledge of English teaching methods, lesson planning, assessment, and curriculum development
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
• Able to give teachers professional and constructive feedback
• Well-organized, responsible, reliable, and punctual
• Comfortable using technology for teaching, administration, and online lessons
• Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
A master’s degree, TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or another relevant teaching qualification will be considered an advantage.
Salary and Benefits
