-Interpret Customer requirements and specifications and translate them into new product concepts and detailed mechanical designs.
-Lead New product development projects from concept, feasibility study, and design through prototyping, testing, and release to production.
-Create 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical documentation.
-Perform engineering calculations and analysis (stress, thermal, tolerance stack-up) and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to meet customer specifications.
-Evaluate technical and cost risks of new designs, prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), and define manufacturing processes for new products.
-Build and test prototypes, and plan design verification/ validation activities to confirm new products meet customer and regulatory requirements.
-Act as the technical point of contact with customers during development, communicating design progress, addressing requirement changes, and resolving technical issues.
-Apply Design for Manufacturing and Assembly principles to ensure new designs are cost effective and productive actions.
-Conduct root cause analysis on design-related issues during development or early production and drive corrective actions.
-Maintain design history documentation and contribute engineering input to project schedules and cost estimates for new product launches.
